Funny thing happened on the way to installing the MS Web Platform Installer; before I go any further, this is not a crack against the WPI, in my opinion, the WPI is one of the greatest things MS had recently released to help me keep my machine working in Dev Mode easily.

The download page for the web installer touts its virtues, among the list is the following

Now I don’t want to be Churlish about that statement, but my first personal computer (A Zeos 386sx) had a Whooping 256k bytes of memory.  I’m not sure you can call something “tiny” when it is 8 times the size of my original memory chip.

All of you who have had the (dis)pleasure of working to my coding standards [it’s good to be the king] are sure to get a chuckle out of this.  As of today I have officially given into peer pressure and moved my Curly Braces to their own line!  Since I’ve been working in C# (wow… 7 years now) I’ve been fighting to keep my curlys on the same line as the opening structure

I usually try to stay away from personal editorials on MS vs. Apple, but with the upcoming “mystery” (yeah, right) announcement, I gotta say, it sure seems like this Mock Ad for the iProduct is so apropos!

Do you live for every product announcement, every incremental upgrade so you can try to be the first poster to rant about how overpriced Apple products are?  How Apple will go out of business soon?  How everything that comes from Apple – be it iPod, iMac, or Mac mini is really not that original, and nothing special?
